Always excellent. Sauce always tastes very fresh (not over cooked as can often happen with a pizza sauce), toppings were flavorful (pepperoni was a bit sweet according to my partner) crust is crisp, buttery with corn meal. There are many personal takes to Chicago deep dish pizza; I highly recommend trying them all and especially this one. The thin crust is also corn meal. I suppose they are trying to keep the style similar to the deep dish. It is more of an acquired taste. The place is a bit busy with tourists on a weekend evening; call ahead to have the pizza ready early. The staff were very kind and helpful
Best pizza parlour I have ever been too. Hands down, if I was to have gone to any other pizza place, my hungee would not have been sufficed. I was able to eat three and a half pieces... Not because of the size, but because of the taste. The slices were almost a forth of a whole pizza. And the prices and service were great. Our server checked in with us often and made the experience very enchanting. Would eat again. Hope this helps anyone near Chicago or visiting Chicago looking for an amazing pizzeria
We made a reservation by phone, on a busy night manager Janine with blonde braided hair seated us. Best garlic Parmesan wings ever! 5/5 We ordered the Lou’s Special which was decadent 4/5, only because I’m not a deep dish fan. It was my birthday, and they gave a free dessert cookie! 5/5 though the kitchen was slow the service and staff kept us informed and happy. And they gave a second complimentary dessert because of the wait which we didn’t ask for! Excellent food, great service, & wonderful people. Will be back.
My wife and I have been to Lou Malnati’s twice and we will be back every time we come to Chicago. This place is a worth any wait. Their buttery crust and tart tomato sauce are unbelievably tasty and unique. This is our favorite of the three deep dish joints we have tried (Lou Malnati’s, Pequod’s, and Giordano’s). We also love putting in our pizza order before we are seated to cut the wait time at the table. Good beer, top pizza, great atmosphere, and a perfect gooey pan cookie with ice cream for dessert. Chicago style deep dish pizza is great. Lou’s is on a whole other level.
Visiting Chicago and a friend took me to Lou's. I had never had Chicago style deep dish before and I don't usually like pizza sauce. This was delicious! The ingredients were fresh and masterfully prepared. I was very impressed and will be returning with my family on my next visit to Chicago. Cal, the server, went above and beyond for us and we felt valued and taken care of. I can not recommend this establishment more.
