First time trying deep dish pizza and Lou’s came highly recommended. Did not disappoint one bit. We got the simple classic, just cheese sauce and butter crust, but don’t let the simplicity fool you. The sauce was extremely flavorful. The crust is heavy enough to support a deep dish, but also light and airy to make a perfect crispy bite. The cheese to sauce to crust ratio is perfect
Waited almost an hour for a small pizza and pasta. Wasn't that busy. Wait staff was nice but food prep operations took way too long. Its like they never managed a restaurant before. If you're going to wait a long time for food in a Chicago restaurant, you have so many other options that are better than this place.
Excellent service! Tim, our waiter, made sure our drinks were filled and that we knew what to expect with regards to wait times. The food was so delicious - I got the classic and my husband got the Lou. They are standards there for good reason. We topped it off dinner with a skillet cookie. Everything was fresh and worth the wait time.
The Chicago style deep dish pizza was disgusting. Domino’s tastes better. It was watery, had absolutely no seasoning and tasted like cardboard. Not even salt on it. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because the salad was amazing (which is hard to mess up) and the mozzarella sticks were bomb (probably frozen)
This is our go to Lou’s. Not as touristy and the wait times are more manageable than other locations closer to downtown. We always, always get the Malnati salad (salami on the side) and the Lou deep dish to accommodate the vegetarian between us two. To be honest we probably come here for that salad more than the pizza, but both together are a match made in heaven!
