AMAZING pizza- by far one of the best in Chicago (& I truly mean this!!)! The crust was nice and crispy with melt-in-your mouth cheese. The flavor is exceptional!!! For a Saturday night, the delivery was extremely fast and the man who delivered my pizza was so kind (and also wearing a mask- which made me feel like this company truly cares for their customers & staff). Michael, the man who took my order, was extremely kind and it was obvious that customer service is a top priority. If you’re craving pizza & on the south side, this should be your #1 pick. ❤️ thank you Connie’s!!!
Connies is the finest establishment ever!! The best pizza, best minestrone, best service, just the absolute finest establishment ever. My husband started out there as a child and still needs to be there! Very strong connection! Love Connie’s❤️ We will be back soon!
First, how rare to find a restaurant in the Chicago area that has free parking! The building is beautiful inside and out. The decor is industrial, but feels both casual and upscale. We were greeted as soon as we entered, I believe we were escorted in by the manager himself, asked if we were from out of town, since it was our first visit, and then treated like royalty when we said how far we came from just to try their pizza. Our server Jillian was fun and ready with helpful information about menu items and any other questions we had. I know we came for pizza, but I peeked at other menu items that sounded amazing, guess we'll have to come back to try those! We did order a house salad that came with hot freshly baked bread that about upstaged the salad! The pizza was delicious! We ordered the original pan pizza with spicy sausage and pepperoni - so yummy! The crust was a surprise as it looked thick and heavy, but was cracker crispy on the outside and fluffy light on the inside - seemingly improbable, but true! We were gifted a piece of chocolate cake to go and it was everything you want in a chocolate cake! So if you can't save room if dining in, take one to go! Overall, our experience was perfect!
My family and myself have visited this location twice, once on February 14 Valentine’s Day and friday( June 19) my sons 4th birthday as well as my daughter 8th grade graduation celebration! We reserved a table of 12, we arrived at 3:00 pm and was greeted with a female waitress! We brought in a very tiny cake and wanted to light it with a number 4 candle, the waitress asked if she could take the cake and candle so she could sing happy birthday as well as congratulations to my daughter, she returns and say the manager says the only way they could participate in singing would be if we purchased a $20 dollar desert, we couldn’t understand that so we told her never mind we will take the cake home, she leaves and comes back to tell us the manager said they’re no longer allowed to sing due to the pandemic! We were shocked as we disappointed! Because if we spend more money yes but after we declined we get a no! This was the same case back in February the manager did the exact thing to us! This is ridiculous and insulting! I’m African American not that I hope that mattered but on both occasions we were the only black Americans! Our bill came out to $281 with gratuity added of course, which we had no problem compensating our waitress we actually tipped her $50 for her service! Because of such a ridiculous unheard of thing that was done to me and my family we will NEVER return nor will we tell anyone who may be inbound to patronize this particular location again! We spend almost $300 of our hard earned dollars and this is the type of service we get! And to top of off the bread that was brought out for the children was very hard, the bread that was later brought out was soft! But upon getting there and seated we wasn’t offered bread not even from our waitress we had to ask another waiter to assist us with fresh bread while everyone else present at the time was offered fresh bread without being asked! Again we were the ONLY black African American people present! I heard this location used to be prejudice but I ignored the rumor to formulate my own experience and opinion, and for the exact experience to happen twice I must say it’s true! We will never give this location our business! If I could have it closed or reported I would! No one deserves to be treated this way we are all equal therefore should receive the same service!
I haven’t been here in over 8 years. The place has an industrial decor which is very cool. Monday’s pizzas are $10.99 with 1 topping so I decided to give it another try to refresh my memory. It wasn’t very busy so I couldn’t understand why our waitress couldn’t refill our drinks or check on us. We had to ask the busboys for refills our drinks. We ordered calamari which was perfectly cooked but warm so that told me it sat out for a while. We ordered the original crust pepperoni pizza. It was on the dry side with very little sauce and very salty. I would think that the cooks would know how to balance the pizzas spices. If you use a salty cured meat then don’t add salt but that wasn’t the case. We asked for additional pizza sauce to drizzle over the pizza and that helped a little bit. When the waitress came around I mentioned to her that it was very salty & dry she didn’t offer a replacement she simply apologized, and Nor did she refill our drinks after that. When the bill came the 18% tip was already added. Sorry but I don’t think I’ll be back & if I do I’ll try e thin crust pepperoni without added salt.
